In 1987, Dr. Vasavada started his career at UT Southwestern Medical Center transitioning Parkland Hospital’s Emergency room to include teaching services. This ultimately led to providing oversight to the service as Director. While the work was fulfilling, clinical research and writing papers became less of interest when compared to direct patient care. He continues his full-time practice to this day to dedicate time to each individual, giving them the unique care that is needed. Dr. Vasavada started his full-time practice in Denton County, while continuing to contribute his expertise through teaching and clinical research. He then became a Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry, and in 2011 he stepped away from teaching to remain dedicated to his private practice.

Dr. Vasavada believes that everyone faces unique challenges, but depression and anxiety are the most common among his patients. Relying on over 40 years of experience, and through psychopharmacological management, he provides comprehensive care where it’s needed most. Dr. Vasavada holds his patients accountable to take medications as prescribed and to engage in psychotherapy. He encourages joint sessions with patients and their therapists to gain insights that will exponentially improve treatment.

Dr. Vasavada refers his patients for additional therapies such as Trans Magnetic Stimulation, Neurofeedback, and Biofeedback. He also partners with therapists who specialize in various types of treatment modalities.

Dr. Vasavada’s staff is tenured and loyal, knowing the standard of care required, providing timely responses to patient’s needs.

Dr. Vasavada sees every patient individually. Dr. Vasavada is known for providing pharmacological solutions to treatment resistant cases often missed by other health care providers.
